A Dream Deferred
What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore--
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over--
like a syrupy sweet?
Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.
Or does it explode?

although a good question, did he HAVE to use the rotten meat analogy? i think i may be sick
This was my poem that I chose to read to my high school english class when I was 15 and do a commentary on. Still love it.
Gross analogies and all.
